Backend Software Engineer

We, the Growth team, work with our entire subscription revenue product suite end-to-end by building the front-end and back-end services and systems. Our goal is to ensure that our current profitable and rapidly growing subscriptions business runs flawlessly (we grew by 1000% in the last 1 year) while empowering the org to execute on future product road maps. Our team also has a deep knowledge of Play & App store APIs and have been featured speakers at Google's subscription partner days and Google Playtime where we have detailed ways to grow and retain paying subscribers.

As a Backend Engineer in the Growth team, You will be architecting, developing, and scaling scala based micro services used by 300 million users. You will work closely with a lean team and collaborate with different teams to design systems which delight our users. You will contribute to strategic product evolution which drives growth. You’ll be building systems from scratch and would be expected to take end to end ownership

What we expect from you:

• Software development experience with Java or Scala, Reactive/Play Framework
• Experience of working with microservices, architecture, and patterns
• Experience of working with non-relational databases
• Experience of working with backend for mobile apps
• Great prototyping skills
• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Good English skills, oral and written

• Responsible for building backend for Truecaller while providing know-how in the full software development lifecycle.
• Building a reliable system while having the ability to move fast
• Participating in problem solving sessions with the team & providing solutions
• Developing a framework to allow rapid prototyping
