Come help re-invent pharmacy shopping by joining the #1 pharmacy on Trustpilot
We are the pharmacy in your phone š±- an e-commerce startup re-inventing pharmacy shopping to suit a high speed online lifestyle š„ Weāre challenging the old school pharmacies by making an easy to use website, as well as rethinking the supply chain to offer convenient, fast delivery to our customersā door step.
Founded back in 2017, weāve shown tremendous growth, sending out over 100,000 orders so far this year, while being ranked the #1 pharmacy on Trustpilot ā
Weāve just secured additional funding of over Ā£5m, and as a next step weāre looking to expand further into the market and bring our offering to the masses - creating a new household brand for the pharmacy industry. The goal is simply to give consumers an accessible and convenient one stop shop for all their pharmacy, health and beauty needs.
Now we are looking for a full stack developer to expand our tech team and help medino grow even further š
Our website as well as all our back-office systems are built in-house, using Clojure, Postgres, HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Being a small team, weāve focused on building a simple and maintainable code base to make sure we get the highest possible output. That means high test coverage and a focus on simplicity and easy to understand code.
We work lean, building features in small increments, testing features out before spending weeks of development, working with A/B testing and analysing results of the new features as needed. We normally release at least a few times a day.
Generally we as much as possible let the needs of the business drive the priority of development and try to stay very agile. Using Kanban with weekly grooming sessions we rarely plan development work more than a week ahead.
Full stack in the true sense, as a developer at medino you will be working on all aspects of medino - website, warehouse management, packing and logistics, buying, pricing, marketing initiatives, data analysis etc. This is a small startup, so aside from the tech we all pitch in where itās needed - If weāre having a really busy day you might even have to help with packing a few orders.
Being a young company you will also be a key part in shaping how we work, both with our tech and with the team.
We work as lean as we can, with quick turnarounds - If you have a great idea in the morning you could be releasing it the same afternoon. Hopefully you are someone who thrives working in this high paced environment with very little standing in the way of a good idea.
We started out as a greenfield project 3 years ago and there is still a lot of opportunity to shape our tech and how we work as a team. Weād like the person joining to be involved in this process, help lead the team to the next level, and put their mark on a quickly growing tech startup.
We are a small team (7 people total, and only 2 in the tech team) and there is no one deciding what we should be working on, it will be up to the team. So you should have a keen interest in developing a product - always keeping the end users experience in mind, but can see the importance of the business side of things as well.
You will be asked to run with your own tasks, speaking with the different teams, figuring out what we should be working on, how it should be designed, as well as doing the actual coding to make it happen. So it is important that you have the drive and interest to handle all parts of the product development yourself.
As we are a small team, there are no in-house designers. Which means that youāll be doing most of the UX research and UI design of the features you build. You will also be setting up the A/B tests and analyse the results of new features as needed. Extensive design experience is not a requirement but you at least have an interest and want to learn more about it.
You write code that is not just functional, but maintainable as well. We write tests for all features, as well as analysing how each feature will work to be as simple as possible. We also wonāt hesitate to spend time fixing technical debt or re-working features that were made too complex the first time around.
Knowledge of Clojure or Postgres is not a requirement but if you havenāt worked with these, youāre keen to learn.
