Job Description

We’re seeking a product-driven entrepreneurial software engineer to join the Showdrop team as our hands-on Founding Engineer.

The Founding Engineer will be responsible for building the Showdrop platform, defining the engineering culture and leading a high-quality engineering team. 

This is a ground-floor role at a startup backed by top VCs, with an amazing team who together share this rare opportunity to reinvent the future of IRL retail.

Responsibilities

• Be a thinking partner to the Showdrop leadership team, including actively participating in roadmapping and architecture discussions
• Manage all tech development, including in-house and outsourced software development and data engineering
• Produce high-quality, production-ready, readable, maintainable code
• Lead large projects from initial inception to production
• Hire, manage, mentor, & grow the Showdrop engineering team
• Be core early member of Showdrop team (first 5 employees) that shapes and implements our vision for a new model of IRL product discovery and sampling

You’re someone who:

• Codes and wants to code
• Likes to move quickly and ship to customers
• Has 4+ years experience with Ruby on Rails or Django
• Can work across the stack — infrastructure, database, backend, frontend 
• Has experience building, deploying and supporting software in production
