The Team

FMR Equity is a wholly owned subsidiary of FMR LLC that provides investment management services to clients through Fidelity’s distribution channels. With over $850 billion in assets under management, the FMR Equity team of investment professionals evaluates, constructs and manages investment portfolios for millions of fund shareholders.

The Role

Reporting to a Managing Director of Research, the Crypto Analyst will join an existing Financials focused equity research team. They will initiate and maintain research coverage of a combination of private and public companies in the crypto universe (e.g. currencies, blockchain, cryptography) and offer technical insight to understand and assess the value created by and investability of crypto technologies. The Crypto Analyst will ultimately generate investment recommendations for equity portfolios and contribute to the investment performance of the firm. This position is based in Boston, MA.

Primary Responsibilities

• Publish research on the crypto landscape– its components, new applications / developments
• Identify the next wave of digitalization and key players
• Educate while also providing opinions on investability and investment implications for existing holdings / sectors
• Communicate findings cross-sector and cross-asset
• Actively maintain ratings on public and private stocks; cross-sector
• Be an active participant in roundtable discussions inside and outside of asset management

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Technical training – basic coding and understanding of proof of work; understanding of blockchain and the crypto landscape
• Investment experience strongly preferred
• Genuine interest in crypto and expectations for its impact
• Intellectually curious to flush out implications across a variety of businesses and draw parallels, etc. to identify opportunity in a still developing market
• Ability to link research to investable conclusions
