We're a venture-backed, seed-stage team building a contract-enforced communications and organization management product. Contract should first be understood in the sense of "legal" / "juridical" and second in the sense of "smart." Picture a combination of Carta and Docusign with decentralized (blockchain, IPFS) and centralized (database) access controls and transaction layers (blockchain wallets; fiat bank transfers). Our stack is Haskell on the frontend, Haskell on the backend, and Nix around the edges. Marigold is a dynamic and collaborative company, established by Gabriel Alfour in November 2020, focused on testing and developing upgrades to the Tezos Protocol. After working on testing and benchmarking the existing protocol code at Nomadic Labs, Gabriel founded a new company around the LIGO programming language. Then, wanting to improve the performance of the Tezos blockchain, he assembled a developer team and founded Marigold. The team is fully remote, skill-oriented, specializing in functional programming, with the ability to understand Tezos code in a flat organization. Marigold is dedicated to Tezos’ efficiency and is constantly working on technical contributions. Doing so, it is fully-integrated in the Tezos ecosystem.

By simplifying the hardware and offloading much of those complications to the software we are able to mitigate much of the risk and costs that comes with complicated hardware manufacturing.
