Site Reliability Engineer (Ansible, Terraform)

Who are we?

Skolem Labs are a stealth startup that provides data and trade execution services for decentralized financial markets. Our systems are built on a deep understanding of the underlying smart contracts and a security research mentality, thereby enabling institutional players to have a one-stop-shop for trading, borrowing/lending, and liquidity providing to generate additional yield.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an infrastructure/security engineer interested in pushing the envelope in cloud security and managed infrastructure. This position will take the lead ensuring that writing & deploying code at Skolem remains secure, safe, and easy within our different environments. You will play a critical role in setting our direction and taking initiative to implement your vision as to how to achieve this. You will be expected to write infrastructure as code (IaC) as well as write code for backend services. You will collaborate closely with engineers to build in system security and stability from the outset.

Skolem has a distributed architecture built from the ground up, with an emphasis on security with defined service boundaries and controls. Backend services are written in OCaml and built & tested on every single commit via a CI/CD pipeline. We believe knowledge is acquired on the job and frequently pair program to solve problems or help pass along specific skills. We need your help to bring us to the next level of practical security, not just checking boxes for sales forms. Skolem is, for the time being, still a small company, so you'll have a highly impactful role as we grow into the next stage of our business.
